We hired an electrician to install on a sloped ceiling. He had this up in less than 30 minutes. It came with the long pieces already attached. The crystal balls came with the eyelet hooks already inserted and nicely packaged. Previously ordered a crystal ceiling fan chandelier that I had to attach each hook, so this was a time saver. I installed the GU10 light bulbs after the light was installed which was difficult because of our high ceilings. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND PUTTING THE GU10 LIGHT BULBS IN BEFORE THE BASE IS INSTALLED! Make sure your hands are super dry as you will have to stand on a 12 ft ladder and lean forward to use both hands to get the lights in the sockets. I finished adding the large crystals myself which took about 30 minutes. We love how this light looks on or off. It's beautiful!
We placed this light in our circular foyer and it's just perfect! Used daylight led bulbs on a dimmer and when it's turned all the way up, it is very bright, which is what we wanted for our entry. When it is dimmed, it does cast shadows(see photos) but we like that too! Due to ceiling height, we had an electrician install the fixture and THE BASE went up quickly. We had to place the crystals and it does take some time, but it is well worth it. I'm not sure what the instructions said (Instructions? Who reads instructions?) but start from string #60 and work inward. I originally started with #1 (center of light) working out, lost my place, and resumed from #60 (outside of light) working inward. I found this much easier.
This is a beautiful chandelier for the price. On time delivery and well packaged. I had to drill in two extra screws to mount into current box. I have mounted this to my 17 ft high foyer and realized I could have bought the Saint Mossi chandelier which is 8 ft in length. It took good 3 hours to install aside from the extra time needed to setup the scaffold. Electricians quoted north of $400 to install and then I decided to take the DIY route.
We were surprised when all the pieces arrived - hadn’t known each crystal had to be individually placed on. We mounted it first then using ladder passes each one up. Didn’t take too long & was beyond worth the effort - it’s stunning - it was great value!
Question: Can I get 2-3 ft dispenser rod to hang the chandelier as i have a sloped vaulted ceiling so the flat service is small?
